TCF is over the moon by the signing of Boubakary Soumare. The midfielder was not included in the starting line-up that we did see in the season opener v. Wolves. He later got his debut stepping into the action as a sub in the 2nd half, and we did see glimps of what he can be, but it’s early doors with the France U.21 international.
After watching him in several games for Lille you start to wonder what sort of player he is and Brendan Rodgers perfectly describes him as a hybrid between Youri Tielemans and Wilfred Ndidi and a perfect match for the two and then hopefully see them all together would be a dream, it could all go electric.
With James Maddison you get the extraordinary and something else as he doesn’t really live in a game as a traditional midfielder but is more of a finisher and entertainer than the three others who all have defense as a weapon in their arsenal.Embed from Getty Images
To see PSG throwing money around for more established and experienced players and also trying to land any talent at other clubs growing up. The talent factory at PSG is extreme, but their impatience sees these players overlooked, Soumare being one of them, and often sold or loaned out to other clubs.
Instead of nursing forward their own talent, they miss and sell their best youngsters to others, and as they grow they are steadily progressing with a pace that sees them in front and often being better than those signed for heavy and monumental fees.
Baubakary Soumare is a very special player, very unique and humble, and at his age Leicester have signed a real diamond. Then to also be able to add Patson Daka to the squad, you are talking recruitment of the higher order. Just phenomenal to see two of the brightest talents in the game joining Leicester, fantastic.
We will most certainly see more of Soumare in the next game v. West Ham as he is a favorite to start. Maddison was withdrawn v. Wolves and last season missed a number of games due to his tricky hip injury, possibly getting a feeling of that, so it could be time for Soumare from start.Embed from Getty Images
Leicester have done great in the summer transfer window, with the move for Soumare as our personal favorite, similar with N’Gole Kantè, and with that in mind, a push for the title would be in reach, as we believe no other team can match this trio with a fourth player James Maddison in there you have great midfield options.
Soumoure left the PSG academy in 2017 without playing a single first team game. He was also held a bit back at Lille in the start as well, but it never hurt him and he just delivered as soon as he was called on. That special act of being silent, doing your job when called on and just progressing is something you see in this player.
Soumare came on as sub in the FA Community Shield game and has already collected his first trophy with Leicester.
