LCFC is so much more than just a mens football team. No one should judge the club only on performances regarding the mens first team. This is, of course, still the most important regarding interest. However, it says nothing about how this football work on a daily basis.
The progress of the women team and their development program is a very interesting read. There are also fantastic results to count regarding the youth development progress on the male side.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is the only man talked about. The owner and DOF Jon Rudkin has also been hit hard over this season. The fact that the male first team struggles in Premier League must be addressed and analysed. The next manager appointment needs to be a much more long term decision.
Jeremy Monga, Jake Evans, Will Alves and Ben Nelson are four players that all are from the academy. They are also born in close distance or in Leicestershire. There are also other names to follow in the youth academy and development team.
Leicester returned to Premier League without a certain future settled. FFP and PSR are two different aspects to control and once and for all bury in the bin. It is undesirable to see the club struggling with financial instability. The Thai owner and club administration must build a sustainable sports foundation. This foundation should align with a proper and healthy financial plan.

To get the women game at Leicester to the highest possible level in England can be very important long term. Chelsea and Arsenal are the two teams dominating. Looking at the WSL table at this point makes a very interesting read. The best teams up there are also among the best in Premier League. Brighton should be noticed and the correlation to male football should not be faulted.
Leicester are also producing some fantastic young talents on the female side. England U.17 international Nelly Las is one to watch. She is what LCFC should build their future on and comes in the same category as the young male footballers.
Looking at the certain parts of the Leicester fanbase and their tunnel vision. We all know it will be a very long run and struggling path. With only focus on a struggling male first team, fans of this category are not what this club needs long term. The club have a long term male focus. 100 years of tradition must be handled carefully. This must ensure that the major following will continue and also involve the female side.
The men’s team relegation will soon be confirmed. Leicester will also have their women’s team in the top flight next season. The club have their male development team (U.21) and the academy team (U.18) at the highest level. To keep focus on these teams and having good progress will be of great importance.
The club needs to build a much better bridge between the male first team and these other teams. This will be essential in the future of the club. This was heavily ignored last summer. Money was splashed out to buy a lot of fringe players. There was no consideration for long-term development.
Steve Cooper had just been appointed manager. He must be heavily blamed for pushing for this approach. These were players he had no use for. In retrospect, he could have solved this with tighter and better bridging towards the development and academy teams.
Quantity is no answer to a good team build, it will often instead power conflicted situations. Lately the new manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy has had challenges with a certain group of established first teamers. They have not been able to contribute to points and good results. So please understand the development of scouting and football transfers negative influence if not done properly.
Leicester male and female teams are seperated today. That is a strange strategy. There are also certain hierarchy rules at Seagrave. These should be downsized as much as possible. Long term, they will build larger gaps between the first team and the youth academy. This is far from a good relational approach.
To get the female camp up to Seagrave should be a priority. Hopefully that will happen and build a better total of it all. Belvoir Drive is a nice and iconic place. However, having two separate areas for male and female football development term is an outdated idea. It does not align with modern sports thinking and philosophy.
