Free Agent Francisco “Fran” Vieites has joined Leicester on a two year deal. He represented Real Betis until end of last season. The 26 year old has been an understudy at the Spanish club.

He made 20 appearances for Real Betis, including eight UEFA Conference League games last season. He was in the squad reaching the final in Poland, losing 4-1 to Chelsea.

Vieites has earlier played for Bertamiran, Celta Vigo and Lugo. This is in line with what was expected earlier. Leicester have recently been linked with a goalkeeper to cover the position.

Jacub Stolarczyk and Asmir Begovic are the other senior goalkeepers at the club. This looks a solid addition and a goalkeeper who can be a cover when and if something happens to the first choice.

Leicester can still sign players. They might also see one or two more departures. Other transfer windows are still open around Europe and in Saudi.

Vieites is the fifth signing so far. Asmir Begovic, Aaron Ramsey, Julian Carrenza and Jordan James are the other signings in this season.
