Jesse Lingard Leaves FC Seoul, AFCON Update, Leicester and Ipswich Transfer Chase, Winks Expected Move?

Jesse Lingard has quit FC Seoul FC. He joined to South Korean club in February 2024. He had a few injury problems during his time there. He played 60 games and scored 16 goals. Football journalist Lee Sungmo called Lingard’s transfer to FC Seoul “the biggest signing in the K League’s history.”

Leicester are said to have an interest in Adam Yakubu. The 20 year old AS Trencin midfielder is seen as one of the most talented young midfielders coming from Nigeria. Gent and Watford are other clubs said to be monitoring this player.

Harry Winks was not in the Leicester squad for the clash with Derby. When confronted, Marti Cifuentes mainly described this as technical decision. Winks has been a regular in the Leicester side most of the season. However, there are rumours that he will move in January. His contract is up in the summer. If an offer comes in, we will not be surprised if he leaves.

Patson Daka is the only current Leicester player that will take part in the AFCON, starting late December. Wilfred Ndidi will captain Nigeria in the tournament. Calvin Bassey and Ademola Lookman are also in their squad. Bilal El Khannouss is expected to be representing Morocco in the tournament. Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani could make the Algeria squad. Woyo Coulibaly (Mali) and Tawanda Maswanhise (Zimbabwe) are other players with Leicester relations who could be playing in the tournament.

Leicester are said to be eager to sign former Leeds and Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara from Rennes. The 30 year old has not really featured much for his French club, being mostly on the bench this season. Ipswich and West Bromwich are also said to be in the running for his signature.

Chris Wood and Ross Barkley as two special players for Leicester to target in the January transfer window. Jesse Lingard would also fit that picture. Chris Wood is at the moment out injured, with no time scale on a return. Barkley is out of contract at Aston Villa in the summer. Jesse Lingard is at the moment a free agent.
