Lee Congerton could be the next man out of the football club with the recent arrival of Paul McGuiness from Manchester United. Congerton is the head of recruitmnent at Leicester but will most certainly leave and join Atalanta in the capacity of General Manager.
Paul McGuiness recently joined Leicester and has been appointed head of development at the club with Steve Beaglehole moving into a part time role at the club, not leaving but no longer at the club in full capacity.
We all know how young players has been nursed forward at Leicester and to see McGuiness joining is of course thrilling and hopefully more great youngsters can be seen in the first team and in a way secure the future of the club as transfer fees are flying into the sky.
The club has restructed parts of their youth set-up in recent weeks following retirement of stalwart Trevor Peake last season, who was head of under-18’s development, and the decision as described above of Steve Beaglehole, head coach of the development squad, to go part-time.
Beaglehole combines his new role being at the club one day in the week to coach and also doing scouting on other days. Ben Petty is at present overseeing the U.23’s and Adam Barradell in charge of the U.18’s. Paul Cheney is at precent head of academy coaching.
The arrival of Paul McGuinnes, son of former Man Utd manager Wilf McGuiness, is seen as a coupe inside the game and he will be overseeing the development of all players between the age of 9 to 18. McGuiness left Man Utd after 23 years and to get that knowledge and history on board at Leicester will most certainly be a huge boost for the club.
