Jake Evans (16) shined in the Premier League Cup final vs. Man City as Leicester came out winners on the evening, winning 2-1 after an extra time goal from Evans. He will most certainly be given minutes in the U.21 next season.

Leicester are competing at the highest level and the youth development facilities must be the best there are. The academy at the club flourish at the moment and the progress seen is fantastic. There are also local players that are driving this forward.

It will be very interesting to follow every progress being made in the next years as this is a very exciting group of youngsters coming through and they are in an environment of trust, belief and modern methods of bringing talent forward in a professional foundation.

With the promotion of the 1st team to Premier League, there could be a more difficult ladder to climb, but then the U.21 team and of course loan options will be crucial to build talented players up to become first team regulars. That is and will always be the most imporant base to build on as you drive your club up and forward.

Fantastic to see such a nice end to a campaign that in some way have been challenging this season, with key players not available because of injuries, so when everyone is back and in full fitness we do see the competitive edge this group have and will grow on.

There are a lot of skill inside this academy, and a player said to become one closing in on a first team life is Lorenz Hutchinson, as his goal tallies and different stats this season looks amazing, let’s hope the progress continues for the U.16 team player.
