Leicester are of course having no free rides in the WSL this season, but a great 2-1 win at home to Liverpool in their latest fixture on the 26th of January, as well as 1-1 draw in the home game prior, we do feel the progress is clear and direct.
One of the players to take real notice of is Ruby Mace, becoming a legendary figure at Leicester, being the first ever full England capped player when she last December made her debut in a match vs. Switzerland, winning the game 1-0.
Ruby Mace joined Leicester on loan in the previous season, making a permanent switch from Manchester City last summer. She is playing in a deep midfield role, becoming a very important player, having played 18 league games so far, still waiting on her first goal.
Mace has a past at clubs such as Arsenal and Birmingham, joining Man City back in 2021, but just 13 league games during her time with The Blues. At the age of 21, she looks as if she will be a player at Leicester with great importance long term.

There are a lot of positives in and around the women set up, also having new recruits added to the squad. During the January transfer window we have seen two new faces arrive. Welsh Goalkeeper Olivia Clark has arrived from Twente. Another new addition is Iceland international Hlin Eiriksdottir, coming in from Swedish club Kristianstads. These are two quality signings at a young age, having gained loads of experience at different club and international levels, so it looks as two players who could lift the spirit.
Liz Kop has left to join Spurs, leaving that gap to be filled by the Wales international Clark. Another departure is Emilia Pelgander who has joined FC Rosengaard on loan for the reminder of the English season.
