Will Alves (seen on the end out right), entered the field in the 82nd minute in the 4th round FA Cup clash away to Stoke. The score at the time was 3-3, but no time left really to make a difference in the game, helping The Bluebirds to take it to extra time.
In extra time, Alves had a few chances, coming close to a goal. Taking on the opposition as we know him, giving Stoke defenders a ride inside the penalty area. His shot went wide, after a deflection.
Alves played wide left and from his wing position contributing in a way that made it possible to get into a penalty shoot out, not involving the Leicester youngster, but still this must have been a great experience.
Cardiff scored four of five penalties, Stoke missing twice so it all ended 4-2 in the shoot outs. Goals for Cardiff came from Colwill 2 and Salich. Colwill hit his third in the game, scoring the final and winning penalty, getting his team through to the 5th round of this tournament.

Will Alves will of course be watched with great interest during his loan stay at Cardiff, lasting until the end of the season. A great start to his campaign, hopefully he will be able to learn a lot on the way as he progress and hopefully get a lot of game time, helping him further in his development.
Leicester are out of the FA Cup, but Will Alves is through to the next round, will be exciting to find out who Cardiff will be playing in the next round. FA Cup 5th round draw will take place tomorrow.
